Silk Heriz Rug 5’ 2” x 7’ 11”

This all silk pile antique handmade Persian Heriz rug has an unusual golden salmon field displaying two striking honeycomb major ornaments and subsidiary flowers and vines, all developing from a central axis. The pole yellow border is a particularly complex revision of the traditional “turtle” pattern. Although made in the last quarter of the 19th century, the rug is in excellent condition throughout.
